Please don’t send recordings. Room Tuner never saves microphone audio, so there is nothing to attach.
Subscriptions
Free and Room Tuner Reference
Measuring is free. Room Tuner Reference is the paid plan, with the full System Check report, experiments, Progress and history, coaching and more rooms. Existing subscribers receive Room Tuner Reference automatically.
Reference is an annual auto-renewing subscription. Apple shows the local price before you subscribe.
Restore a purchase
In the app, tap Upgrade, then Restore purchases. Subscribers can also tap their plan in the header, then Restore purchases. Restore needs an internet connection.
Manage or cancel
On your iPhone, open Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions. Apple handles all billing.
Request a refund
Apple handles refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Room Tuner uses Apple’s standard Terms of Use.
What you need to measure
An iPhone running iOS 17 or later, and a way to play the test sound through your system:
- AirPlay 2: Room Tuner plays the sweep through your speaker, receiver or Apple TV. AirPlay 2 is needed for app-controlled Full readings and Find your best seat.
- Just listen: play the published Standard Sweep from a Mac, computer or player connected to your system while the iPhone listens. This gives a free Quick reading, including with wired, optical and other systems.
- System Check: the track takes about three minutes and plays with AirPlay or Use my own player. Free shows the verdict and what was measured; Room Tuner Reference includes the full report.
Headphones are not supported. The phone-speaker demo shows how the app works, but it does not measure your room.

If a check didn’t work
“The track’s timing drifted” or “Not analysed”
- Turn off crossfade, playback speed, Sound Check or other effects in the player.
- Don’t change the route or volume while the track plays.
- Try a quieter moment, away from talking, fans or traffic.
“Partly measured”
This is usually background sound. Repeat in a quiet moment without changing anything.
No microphone access
On your iPhone, open Settings › Room Tuner › Microphone.
AirPlay device missing
Make sure the iPhone and speaker are on the same Wi-Fi network. If it still doesn’t appear, use Just listen for a Quick reading.
Privacy in the app
The Room Tuner app has no account, analytics, advertising or tracking. Microphone audio is processed on your device and is never saved or uploaded.
